Modern Loft in the Hills of Kalamunda

Not every design makes it to the build stage but that doesn't mean the design process is a failure or unenjoyable.  I always felt this lovely loft home in the hills was the one that got away.  It would have been a wonderful home to live in.

Designed to take advantage of sweeping views over the city from it's high position in the Kalamunda hills, it would have enjoyed sweeping uninterupted views from most of the rooms in the house.

The home office makes a bold angular statement to the street approach, something the client wanted. The rear of the home a meanering solar pergola using rough telephone poles with the balcony deck of the loft living room overlooking the pool and beyond.

2 Storey Home

A solid well organised 2 storey home for a mature couple designed for a casual lifestyle.  A balcony at the rear overlooks a manmade lake and parkland.  The clients weren't after a palace or a showpiece, just a modest home that met their needs.  The living area gathers around a protected outdoor area for relaxing with views to the lake. The master suite also enjoys those views from upstairs. The double garage has extended space at the rear for the owner to engage his passion for a workshop area.
