Narrow Lot challenge

Narrow lots bring their own challenges and this home with rear garage access will make a lovely contribution to the new homes being built in a recent subdivision in Ascot.   Built by Amano Homes and designed to suit a modern progressive family it makes a quietly strong statement to the streetscape but embraces a fresh open family home inside.  Playing on the Skillion roof idea with rendered walls and colorbond roof, the elevation hints at the sense of modernism within.

Hugging one boundary, home opens to the northern winter sunshine to make the best of our Perth climate.  Direct access from the rear garage to the kitchen makes bringing in the shopping easy and the home also boasts 2 main bedroom suites, one up and one downstairs.  This makes it easier to change as the families needs change from being close to young children to being able to live downstairs and leave the top floor for matured children.

Unit Development Armadale

Clients brief was for 4 home units that might suit retiree's as the area's market dictated but these units would also suit young upward couples or singles just as well. Just a courtyard for table and chairs and small automaticall reticulated gardens make these easy care homes.

Once the engineers report arrived it was decided to switch to framed construction to reduce the cost of footings and so the design became clad instead of face brick.
