Cubic Diamond near the beach.

Every once in a while a designer gets that dream client.  Custom designed for an Amano Homes client, this project is someones dream to realise their cubic vision of precision with careful planning of every portion to create a stunning family home for a successful couple and their young children. With North to the street, the clients desired to take full advantage and so the design had to not only make space around the garage access but also get private secure access to the front entry.

Stone facing to a blade wall hung above the entrance to the undercroft garage makes a bold statement. As you walk to the entry, you will get a dramatic view of the stone as you walk passed, almost under.
The front yard will hold the swimming pool which checks under the balcony alfrecsco over.  The ground floor is raised to take best advantage of the outlook to a park across the road. Paving, decking and faux grass will fill out the front yard along with carefully placed gardens.
The double balcony keeps the solid square look. Gridded panelling balance the stone work and hide the verandah roof.   Two pyramid roof's add to the street interest with one providing light to the dramatic entry.

The staircase and entry form a dramatic introduction into the home and hence the importance of making a bold strong statement to establish the sense of place. The stair, timber straddling a central steel stringer launching off polished concrete floors and a rather than opting for one of the various balustrades, the clients jumped at the builder's suggestion of a vertical timber wall.  I just hope the shadows don't scare the children.
The living area is the hub of the home and the form is simplicity without embelish.  Concrete polished floors will be set off with rugs, classic furniture will garnish pure space.  Two sets of concertina doors open the living room to the living alfresco balcony with the bbq area down one end near stairs leading you down to the pool area.  Cubic architecture is simplicity but it's not easy to accomplish successfully.  Lots of work has gone into balancing each portion to form a home that will excite the senses and calm the nerves after a tough day.

The wonderful home is now well under way but there is still much to be completed.
